Rockhal Luxembourg, where music matters!

The CMA, Centre de Musiques Ampli ées (or: Center for Ampli ed Music) is a public establishment with two major tasks:

  1.  Rockhal manages and operates the building called the “Ampli ed Music Center” in Esch-Belval while respecting its priority vocation of serving production and organisation of ampli ed music concerts.

  2.   Rocklab: Fostering artistic creation by providing spaces and support systems for both professional and amateur musicians.

This fusion of Rockhal and Rocklab forms a powerful alliance that brings artists' musical projects to life, evoking intense and unforgettable emotions for audiences through live performances. Our guiding principle is clear: « Where Music Matters. »

A premier venue for amplified music

Rockhal is not just a venue; it's a temple of sound, meticulously designed to cater to the unique demands of amplified music. By attracting internationally renowned artists to Luxembourg and serving as a launchpad for local talent, Rockhal has established itself as a beacon in the European music scene.

Our venue comprises four versatile spaces, each tailored to meet the highest standards of global artists. The technical facilities are state-of-the-art, the hospitality is second to none, and the security is robust, ensuring every event runs smoothly. With capacities ranging from 180 to 6.500 people, along with an expansive outdoor square, Rockhal is equipped to provide an unparalleled experience for both performers and audiences.

Member of European Arenas Association

As a proud member of the European Arenas Association (EAA), Rockhal stands among Europe's elite venues. This membership underscores our commitment to excellence and positions us as a technical and operational reference point within the continent. Being part of the EAA means that Rockhal adheres to the highest standards of quality and innovation.

Advanced lighting control across Rockhal

After thorough evaluation, Rockhal has chosen Visual Productions lighting control solutions to manage the lighting in its main areas: FOYER, FLOOR, CLUB, and MAIN HALL. This implementation includes a variety of Visual Productions controllers, such as the CueCore3, which illuminates the expansive foyer, and multiple DaliCores that handle the lighting over the bar stations in the Foyer.

While these controllers are not utilized for on-stage entertainment lighting, they govern all other mood, special atmosphere, and accent lighting across the venue, including the VIP area. The RdmRelays offer an added layer of security, enabling the shutdown of entire areas if lights are accidentally left on.

Seamless integration and user-friendly operation

A sophisticated computer and DMX network ensures the seamless integration of MA Lighting's MA2onPC in-house systems with other temporary lighting control equipment. Strategically placed Kiosc Touch devices from Visual Productions provide localized lighting control throughout the venue. These custom-designed, user-friendly interfaces allow even unskilled staff to manage the lighting efficiently.

Initially, Rockhal installed 17 different Visual Productions devices. Recently, an additional 34 devices were added, marking the beginning of a new phase. Now, nearly all non- entertainment lighting, from the MAIN HALL to the VIP area, TERRACE, and TOILETS, will be managed by Visual Productions controllers. This comprehensive yet user-friendly system ensures optimal lighting control throughout the venue.

At Rockhal, Elmar Hubert, Head of Venue & Technical, along with his team, including Lighting & Video Technician Loïc Blaszczyk, have designed and implemented an impressive, integrated lighting control system. The intuitive Kiosc Touch layouts allow for hassle-free operation by engineers, production staff, or security officers.

With the latest addition of lighting control gear, Visual Productions continues to play a pivotal role in Rockhal's ongoing advancements in lighting technology.
