The Centre de Musiques Amplifiées (CMA), or Center for Amplified Music, stands as a prestigious public establishment dedicated to two primary missions:

  1.  Rockhal: Managing and operating the « Amplified Music Center » in Belval, with a primary focus on producing and organizing amplified music concerts.


  2.  Rocklab: Fostering artistic creation by providing spaces and support systems for both professional and amateur musicians.


This fusion of Rockhal and Rocklab forms a powerful alliance that brings artists' musical projects to life, evoking intense and unforgettable emotions for audiences through live performances. The guiding principle is clear: « Where Music Matters. »


A premier venue for amplified music


Rockhal is not just a venue; it’s a temple of sound, meticulously designed to cater to the unique demands of amplified music. By attracting internationally renowned artists to Luxembourg and serving as a launchpad for local talent, Rockhal has established itself as a beacon in the European music scene.


The venue comprises four versatile spaces, each designed to meet the highest international standards for live entertainment. With capacities ranging from 180 to 6,500 attendees, as well as an expansive outdoor square, Rockhal continuously invests in cutting-edge technologies to deliver the best possible experience for both audiences and artists.


From technical infrastructure and digital systems to lighting and venue operations, Rockhal constantly explores, tests, and integrates new technologies in order to remain at the forefront of the live entertainment industry. Beyond functionality, lighting, in particular, is an essential component of the visitor experience shaping the overall atmosphere of each event. Far beyond simple illumination, it helps create immersive environments, enhances architectural spaces, and contributes to the unique identity and ambiance of the venue. Through continuous technological evolution, Rockhal aims to offer audiences a seamless, engaging, and memorable live experience at every level.


Advanced lighting control across Rockhal


After thorough evaluation, Rockhal selected Visual Productions' lighting control solutions as a cornerstone of its technological evolution. What began as an initial installation of 17 Visual Productions devices has now grown into a comprehensive system of 42 units, covering nearly all non- entertainment lighting environments, which is a level of sophistication that now matches the advanced systems already in place for on-stage entertainment lighting.


From the FOYER to the MAIN HALL, from the BAR to the VIP area and many other zones, mood, special atmosphere, and accent lighting can now be precisely set across nearly every corner of the venue. A single touch, the press of a button, or fully automated scheduling based on time of day or event now brings each of Rockhal's spaces to life exactly as intended.


Seamless integration and user-friendly operation


Rockhal needed a solution that could integrate seamlessly with its existing systems, while remaining effortlessly operable, and precisely control roughly 600 fixtures spanning both DMX and DALI ambience and working lights. Visual Productions delivered a solution that met every one of these requirements.


The system's backbone is built around CueCore3, RdmNodes, and DaliCore controllers, granularly managing DMX and DALI fixtures alike while seamlessly integrating with in-house and external control equipment, including professional lighting consoles and third-party devices.


At Rockhal, Venue & Technical team have designed and implemented an impressive, integrated lighting control system. The intuitive Kiosc Touch layouts allow for hassle-free operation by engineers, production staff, or security officers.


Visual Productions is also supporting Rockhal's energy-saving efforts on all standing lights, with its advanced RdmRelays helping the venue contribute, alongside Luxembourg, to the European Union's climate goals.
